CI Class Manager – Completeness: Required Fields tab not available in Zurich

Hi Community,

I am working on a ServiceNow Zurich instance and trying to configure CMDB Health → Completeness for a CI class.

For example, I selected the CI class:

Configuration Item → Hardware → Computer → Cisco UCS Blade

Then I navigated to:

CI Class Manager → Cisco UCS Blade → Health → Completeness

However, I can see only the Recommended Fields section. I do not see any Required Fields tab/section.

I have already checked the CI Class Manager configuration, but the Required Fields option is not available.

I want to configure fields such as Serial number as required for this CI class and have them considered in the CMDB Health → Completeness → Required metric.

Hi @sarthakkach

As far as I am aware the Required Fields tab was removed somewhen around Washington. I think you have to set mandatory on dictionary entries (or dictionary entry overrides depending on your goal).

I hope this helps!

Hey @sarthakkach
In ServiceNow Zurich, the Required Fields section is not configured separately in CI Class Manager. The Required metric under CMDB Health → Completeness uses fields marked as mandatory in the System Dictionary.

To make Serial number mandatory for the Cisco UCS Blade class:

Navigate to CI Class Manager → Hierarchy and select Cisco UCS Blade.

Open Class Info → Attributes and check whether the Serial number attribute is available.

If available, set its Mandatory value to true.

If the field is inherited from a parent class, use a Dictionary Override on the Cisco UCS Blade table to make it mandatory only for that class.

Save the changes and verify the Required metric after the CMDB Health jobs run.
