Does anyone know what CSDM says about how to classify CIs?

Applications vs technical services vs websites, etc.

1. Applications are typically classified under the "Application Service" class. These are logical representations of your applications and include software that delivers specific business functionality.

2. Technical Services are classified as "Technical Service" or "Infrastructure Service." These represent the underlying IT infrastructure that supports your applications and business services, such as databases, servers, or network components.

3. Websites are usually part of "Application Service" if they are providing a specific business function, or they might be linked to a "Business Service" if they represent a complete service offering to customers.

CSDM encourages aligning CIs with the service taxonomy, ensuring that each type of CI supports a clear layer within the service model—ranging from the technical infrastructure to the business services delivered to end-users.
