I was in the K24 and fortunate to take a picture on CSDM 5 Draft at the CSDM booth on the expo floor. Interesting to see the Gen AI + Domain-LLM in the BUILD domain. @Mark Bodman, I missed both of your sessions at K24 but would be grateful if you can share some content about CSDM 5.0.

I see many surprises. Digital product has shrunk to only replace Business Apps.
Idea/Demand has become Product idea/Planning item.
Product model has been expanded to include Product Feature.
One of the Technical services was removed from the model.
CI's has become Service Delivery System.
Portfolios appear to be gone.
I am very much looking forward to hearing the details about all these changes.

Yeah, agreed that Service would still be the best renaming choice for Application Service. I'm also not convinced that Service Instance is any less confusing than what we already have. Confusion around this a common theme in both the CMDB SIG, and SNUG CMDB/CSDM product tables.

Its probably already been suggested somewhere, but I'd love "System Instance" since that's what it is.

@Daniel Borkowi1 , the lady I met at the booth mentioned that it would be available in the Yokohoma release.

'Service Instance' is confusing because it makes us think it's not the Digital Product but the Service (Tech. or Bus.) that defines the Instance specifics, starting with the naming convention. I foresee a lot of pain in adopting that - even more than we have now when we explain the difference between an Application Service and an Application to our users. If the standard approach 'an Application Service is the Business Application split by environment' stays, then it's only logical to make it more transparent on the naming level. Digital Product split into Digital Product Instances would look and feel way better.
