The key CSDM points related to CSM are in the following data elements:
- Offerings - Specifically Business Service Offerings
- Application Services
- Product Models (specifically Application Models and Service Models)
Ensuring that these elements conform to CSDM, and that you are using your Product Models correctly to define your Applications and Services and Offerings, this will allow you to properly track your Customers' Install Bases for your Sold Products in CSM. Also worth noting that in some of the drafts of CSDM 5.0 / "Now Data Model" they are starting to formally include these elements, which may or not mean that those components are migrated into a free core capability (just speculation, but that has been their guiding principle in the past when introducing application-specific components into the CSDM).
