In the CSDM, I can envision 3 Technical Services with corresponding tech service offerings.
- Server Hosting
- Windows Server Hosting
- Linux Server Hosting
- Network Services
- Wired Networking
- Wireless Networking
- Data Center Power Services
- Battery Backup Power Services
- Utility Power Services
That makes sense to me, however, ultimately, those 3 don't exist at the same level in a dependency tree, they're related and dependent upon each other. If I don't have power, I don't have network or hosting. If I don't have network, I don't have hosting.
I looked in the Tech Services page in platform and see no field for defining a relationship to another Tech Service. Is there such a thing or is there a better way to do this such that the outage of Power clearly shows all these other things being affected?

Hi
your approach regarding what is a "Technical Service" is wrong.
You write "If I don't have power, I don't have network or hosting. If I don't have network, I don't have hosting." And that's the reason why you would never offer "Data Center Power Services" as individual offering to a consumer/customer. You would only offer "Server Hosting" because this is what a customer wants to pay for. For all dependencies below you can use the existing relationships types between CIs.
Kind regards
Maik

Hello Maik
Isn't it rather the case that what I offer the customer is in the Business Services domain. The Technical Services domain describes how the services are provided and supported (managed). Especially for network and server we have different teams. It is important for us to be able to classify tickets exactly here.
Kind regards
Adi

I somewhat understand what you're saying, but what if I do offer the various options for power as billable services? We have some customers that will pay the extra to get UPS backup on their servers as opposed to pure utility subject to the fluctuations of that.
Likewise for Network Services. If I offer Wired 1 GbE, Wired 10GbE, Wired 40GbE as direct billable choices for customers, and those are directly related to Server Hosting, how do I relate them or is it still the same as you said, use the relationship on the CI?
