How to remove few states from Process Flow for custom Emergency Change Model?

I am trying to configure a custom Change Model and would appreciate some guidance.

I want to remove the Assess/Authorize/Scheduled/Review when my custom change model is selected

Requirement

I have created a custom Change Model with the following details:

  • Name: Test Change Model
  • Type: Emergency

The model is intended to have only the following states: New/Implement/Closed/Canceled

When a Change Request is created using this model, I want the Process Flow to display only the above states.

Current Issue

The Process Flow is still displaying the OOB states such as: Assess/Authorize/Scheduled/Review

I do not want these states to be visible or available when the Test Change Model is selected.

What I have tried

I attempted to update/configure the Process Flow Formatter with conditions specific to my custom Change Model. However, the Process Flow continues to display the standard states and I do not see any change in the UI.

Questions

  1. Is it possible to have a model-specific Process Flow that only shows:

    • New
    • Implement
    • Closed
    • Canceled
  2. How is the Process Flow for Change Requests actually generated in State Model based Change Management?

    • Is it driven by the Change Model?
    • State Transitions?
    • Process Flow Formatter?
    • UI Actions?
    • Some other configuration?
  3. If the Process Flow Formatter condition is not affecting the displayed states, what is the recommended approach to achieve this requirement?

Any guidance on the correct configuration or best practice approach would be greatly appreciated.
