I recently completed the ServiceNow ArchX training and decided to document my experience. The purpose of this article is to provide an objective analysis of the program, emphasizing its key strengths and identifying areas for improvement from an educational point of view.
Why Should You Take This Training?
It is essential to note that the program's quality and purpose are noteworthy in several respects. Let me begin by discussing the methodology and the learning environment.
The course material is well-structured and clear, facilitating content assimilation. A notable distinguishing factor is the training environment, which is separate from the main ServiceNow University portal. The platform is intuitive and well-designed, allowing for fluid navigation, progress tracking, and the ability to resume the course where it was left off. Additionally, the ability to view, evaluate, and receive feedback on peer activities makes the environment a valuable resource for collaborative learning.
Another key element to consider is the incorporation of practical activities and peer evaluation. The hands-on methodology is one of the pillars of the training. The practical activities are essential for consolidating knowledge. Peer evaluation is an innovative and effective approach that encourages the delivery of high-quality work, since the feedback comes from other professionals in training.
A key strength of the ArchX training is its strategic approach. The course goes beyond the technical aspects of the platform and explores the role and professional conduct of an architect during an implementation process. It provides a comprehensive overview of interactions with clients and team members, offering a multifaceted perspective on project support. This method ensures that professionals who do not hold a ServiceNow technical architect position, such as myself, can still benefit from the content, as it provides a solid foundation in business acumen and professional strategy.
Opportunities for Improvement
Despite its strengths, the training presents an opportunity for improvement that could further enhance its quality.
The main point that deserves attention is the dynamic of the live sessions; while mediators play an instrumental role in stimulating discussio
n, audience often exhibit a reserved and unresponsive participation.
It would be beneficial to adopt a more dynamic methodology, such as the inclusion of case studies or the proposal of real-world problem-solving scenarios to be addressed in groups in real-time. (Yes! I know it’s a self-paced training - but it’s my opinion here anyway) I believe that this approach would actively encourage engagement and transform the sessions into a richer and
more proactive exchange of knowledge.
In summary, the ServiceNow ArchX training program is noteworthy for its practical approach, learning environment, and, most importantly, its focus on developing strategic skills. It is a highly recommended option for professionals seeking a comprehensive understanding of an architect's role in an implementation project, extending beyond purely technical aspects.
