UI Builder Protection policy read only.

Hi all,

I have a question about UI builder. We want to create a landing page for managers to see their agents workload as a homepage.

I cloned the "CSM Landing Page (enabled for UI Builder)". However, I am getting this error message in the UI builder when trying to edit this copy. "Read-only. The Landing Page has a protection policy."

I have full admin - sec admin privileges. And the protection policy of the "UX Custom Content Extension" is -None-.

I don't understand what step I need to take to remove the read only protection policy. I also was not able to find my answer through documentation.

Can anyone take me through the best way they know how to get around this protection policy?

What scope did you use to copy the page? You shouldn't use the baseline scope.

I used the CSM Workspace scope. Is the scope what is containing the protection policy?

I am curious as to what is best recommended here. Is it best practice to create a new application scope for a landing page?

You should create your own scope and then make a copy of the page. Otherwise you'd have no option to use App Repo to promote your code changes.

This is incorrect. When you duplicate an existing variant you should duplicate it in its original scope due to some cross-scope issues. You CAN still use the app repo even if it's in the original scope by publishing customizations or you can use update sets.
