View a publication on the Customer Service Portal

Hi,
We make use of publications within the targeted communications app. Once published they appear for our internal users via Targeted Communications | Publications, and to our external users via the our service portal. The route is as described in this article:
The issue I have is that the filters and sort ordering options that are listed (publication/expiry date, unread, category etc.) only appear when viewing publications via the platform, and not on the service portal.
Does anyone have any experience of this and how to add the filters to the portal view? Is it a specific widget or setting?

Hi Barry,
To add filters and sort ordering options to the view of publications in the Service Portal, you might need to customize the Service Portal widget that is used to display the publications.
Can you let me know whats the widget name you're using to view the publications?

Thanks for your input.
As far as I can tell the widget is called Publications List.
It would seem odd that I'd need to customize the widget, when the documentation appears to state that these are default options when viewing publications in the service portal?
