In case you missed TechNow Yokohama, ServiceNow IDE is adding some great new features from the modern development stack in Yokohama.
For my lawful good developers who think programming languages should be structured and orderly, TypeScript might just be your new favorite way to program on the platform. ServiceNow IDE will now let you write Business Rules and other scripts in TypeScript and then transpile them to JavaScript for the platform to use. But don't worry my chaotic compatriots, we can still hold our objects together with duct tape and bubblegum using regular JavaScript. Although better IntelliSense is tempting...
We're also getting the ability to use private npm registries from within ServiceNow IDE which will let us import those proprietary libraries that aren't in the public domain.
And my favorite is the ability to convert existing applications to ServiceNow Fluent which will let us use ServiceNow IDE on even more projects.
Be sure to check out the demo and let us know what you think of the latest features!
