I've been working on the ServiceNow platform for a bit under three years, primarily developing custom applications.  ServiceNow is a huge platform and there are so much good resources out there.  From day one, even until today, I am still finding something new each day.  Sometimes I heard about it through a colleague, or through a SNUG, or through a training course.  I got them in emails, IM, or in eBook. They are scattered everywhere.  I decided to get organized, and use the Marie Kondo method to tidy up - "keeping only those things that spark joy".  This article provides a single place to these useful resources (abandoning the ones that don't spark joy), and I hope you find them useful too.

What I Have Open on a Daily Basis

  • Product Documentation - read up on release notes, product features, and step by step procedures on how to use a feature.
  • Developer Portal - get your free developer instance (and manage it here), read up on API, go through online self-paced training..etc.
  • Community - search for commonly asked questions and help to answer some too.
  • HI Portal - submit a ticket to HI to get your questions answered by ServiceNow support

When I'm Troubleshooting NOW Platform Issues

When I Don't Want to Re-invent the Wheel

  • ServiceNow Store - certified free and paid applications are available.  You can get them here or request a trial version.

Before Diving Deep into Development

These are good to read and review before getting your hands dirty on a ServiceNow instance.

When I Want to Learn Something New

When I Have Extra Time to Kill

When I Want to Look at the Big Picture

  • ServiceNow Products - this page categories all the products and provides links to more information such as case studies, white papers, product highlights, etc.  It's a massive list!  It has 67 products when I did a count!!
  • Now Platform Reference Guide - this is a 13-page PDF condensed version of the above.

Acknowledgements:  Special thanks to ServiceNow's Platform Implementation Course.  This course has taught me how to fish and gave me most of the great references in this article.
