Hello Everyone,

Today, I want to share with you all about my experience hosting a ServiceNow developer meetup.

In April, I attended the 2024 Q1 ServiceNow developer meetup, soaking up knowledge and making connections. Who knew that a few months later, I'd find myself on the other side of the table, staring out at a room full of eager faces, hosting the whole thing! 👩‍💼

Thanks to Pranav's encouragement (and maybe a well-timed pep talk!), I took the plunge. It turned out to be an incredible experience, and I can't wait to share all the highlights with you! 🙂

Let me tell you, it was a total blast 🎆. We had a fantastic group of attendees – a mix of seasoned veterans (think MVPs!), newbies fresh out of college with that bright-eyed enthusiasm (seriously, you guys rock!), and even some curious college students (you 4th semester folks are going places!). Their eagerness to learn and engage was truly inspiring.

Icebreakers and Insights

We kicked things off with introductions that went way beyond the usual "name and company" drill. We talked about career journeys, hobbies – it was a great way to get to know everyone. It was fascinating to see the diversity of backgrounds and stories. 💡

To break the ice, we played a game of Human Bingo, which turned out to be a lot of fun and a great way to get to know each other better. Here's a little sneak peek for you -

Lunchtime: Networking on Fast Forward

Lunch wasn't your average sit-down affair. It was the best networking lunch I've ever attended. We all channelled our inner butterflies and did some serious table-hopping. It was fantastic to see everyone connecting and really using this golden opportunity to network!

Sharing the ServiceNow Wisdom

Post-lunch, I conducted a session on "10 Things I Wish I Knew About ServiceNow When I Started." . Sharing my insights and experiences was rewarding, and the interaction with the participants added so much value to the discussion.

We had some incredibly experienced folks in the group, and they shared stories of their own early-day struggles, workarounds that became legendary and insights that only come from putting in the time.

By the end of the session, it wasn't just about the 10 things I wished I knew – it was a collective list of ServiceNow wisdom from everyone in the room - a true learning experience!

Social Media Frenzy

Next, we had a social media contest.

The goal? Create a short video showcasing your meetup experience, and the one with the highest engagement wins. It was exhilarating to see my LinkedIn feed flooded with these videos.

The enthusiasm of the participants was contagious, their creativity shone through in each video. Check them out -

Beyond the Basics

But it wasn't all fun and games (although, let's be honest, those were awesome!).

We also had some insightful discussions from the experienced folks in the group. Plus, we tested our ServiceNow knowledge with a thrilling Mentimeter trivia session. Would you have guessed the correct answer for the below one??

Memories in the Making

To cap it all off, we captured content for a memory video – a ServiceNow meetup experience for the ages! We even had some participants attending their 5th or 6th meetup (you guys are seriously dedicated!), alongside the newbies joining the party for the first time.

Oh, and since Pranav wasn’t joining (big shoes to fill!), we did the next best thing – a group photo featuring him. 😄

A Huge Thank You!

This meetup wouldn't have been possible without the amazing participants, Pranav's unwavering support, and of course, the power of ServiceNow to bring us all together. Here are some more pics from the event -
