Entering The Devvies App of the Year contest shouldn’t be a daunting task, and we’re here to make sure it isn’t! Follow this straightforward guide from our Developer Advocacy team to navigate through the submission process with ease. 

This contest is tailored for all developers and practitioners alike! The evaluation criteria are crafted to your experience level and the details provided in your application, and we believe in being completely transparent about that. Take a moment to review The Devvies 2024 Contest Judging Criteria. 

To Enter: 

1. Select Your App: Start by choosing the app you wish to submit. Reflect on your creations and their impact on your organization or a client's business operations. Did your app enhance efficiency, boost productivity, or save valuable time? Don’t forget the key requirements: The submitted app must be fully developed, operational, and implemented on a production instance by your organization or another entity. We will examine various technical aspects of your app (e.g., a valid sys_app table record, global or scoped app status, creation via App Engine Studio or App Studio, etc.). If your app doesn’t align with these ServiceNow App criteria, we will request further details about your app’s architecture post-submission. 
2. Choose Your Entry Mode: Next, decide whether you want to participate in The Devvies individually or as a team. You can have up to five contributors, including yourself, who assisted in developing the app you are submitting. Be sure to select who your team lead will be as they will be the one submitting the application! 
3. Complete the Application: You’re now ready to submit! Choose the app you wish to showcase and complete The Devvies contest application 😄. Don’t hesitate to submit multiple apps. The more you submit, the higher your chances of becoming a Finalist. Click here to apply.  Applications open October 20th, 2023. 

We will notify you via email on or before December 18th, 2023 if you have advanced to the Finalist stage. 

If you are selected as a Finalist: 

If you progress to the Finalist stage, you will be required to produce a video pitch for your app and participate in a live grill session. Your pitch video will be submitted to our panel of judges for an opportunity to secure one of the coveted grand prizes! Your video pitch should incorporate testimonials from end-users and a comprehensive walkthrough or deep dive of your app. More details will come via email if you are selected.  

After you Submit:  

Share Your Achievement! 

Once your app is submitted, spread the news! Inform your colleagues that you have entered The Devvies 2024 contest by tagging @Servicenow and using #TheDevvies in your post. After that, comment the link to your social post on our Community blog to qualify for your free swag. Then, sit back and relax while we assess the initial round of submissions!
