Based on feedback from our end users, they would like the ability to add a screenshot directly into any ticket that they submit. I have determined that the best way to do this is to add a new HTML field to the form we want to allow the users to do screenshots.
But based on further feedback, it would appear there are many forms in which they want to submit screenshots. I have determined the best way to do this is to insert the HTML field on the main Task form. However, this has generated some pushback with our platform team. They have informed me of their concerns about the impact of performance on the main task form.
Will the addition of an HTML field impact performance on the Task form?

Hi @tahnalos,
Out of box, ServiceNow supports the addition of attachments when submitting a form.
Can you expand on what type of ticket is being raised? Not that I see any restrictions based on the type of ticket... It maybe that you just need to enable it for your ticket type or on the record producer / catalog item etc.
Is there a reason why simply providing an attachment icon and section where an attachment can be added won't work for your requirement?
To help others (and for me to gain recognition for my efforts), please mark this response correct by clicking on Accept as Solution and/or Kudos.
Thanks, Robbie

Yes you can add attachments on the form. However, the process to add an attachment is considered to be too cumbersome (take screenshot, save screenshot to computer, go to ServiceNow and attach screenshot).
What they want is to add the screenshot directly to the ticket via a cut and paste/drag and drop option. The HTML field is considered to be the easiest to accomplish this task and I have confirmed that this works on my PDI, but the concern from the platform persons is that adding such a large field to a core task form will impact performance.
