Hi Team, Please bear with me as I am new to ServiceNow and looking for some help.
At present, we are utilizing the workflow process for our change management. Our Change team is seeking the capability to include additional groups manually to Normal change requests. These groups will be adhoc and added based on the specific situation (in New and Assess phases), similar to adhoc individual approvers. Furthermore, they would like the workflow to handle group approvals in the same manner as individual approvers. how to allow the CAB to add these groups to the change work flow and how to check if of the two members from that group approved and then checking that CAB will provide their final approval to move the change to scheduled state.
Any help on this is really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi @Krish23
Adding the approval groups manually is not recommended but still, if you want, you can add in Approval Tab with New Button. Along this you need to add validation in WF that all approval must be done before change move.
Also is these group fixed for set of changes then I will say use change model concept.

Could you provide some steps or screenshots for the same? Also, is it a best way to create a catalog for additional groups and wait for that request to be fulfilled ( just approvals and then proceed with the current work flow of the change Request is a best practise?

Hi @Krish23
1. If possible please avoid the ad-hoc group addition in run time.
2. If you still need it, better put logic on CI / SO to call that group.
3. The group should be added before the assessed state.
4. You need to bring add/remove button here
5. You need to update the workflow
is it a best way to create a catalog for additional groups and wait for that request to be fulfilled ( just approvals and then proceed with the current work flow of the change Request is a best practise?
Atul: No, mate. If you need additional approval, better use in change only.

Hello!
first off, I'm so glad I found a recent post on this very subject.
With that said, I'm going down several rabbit holes, Like the OP, I'm still new(ish) to servicenow admin side of things. I've been following guided setups for all the rest of the configurations and so far, it hasn't steered me wrong. I'm in a bit of a conflict here, the guided setup for change management are referencing the old WF, instead of flow designer/ workflow studio. When I go into WF, it tries to redirect me to workflow studio, I've looked all through nowlearning and haven't found anything that's up-to-date, by that I mean, everything discussing change management is based on Paris and doesn't apply to the new ui etc.
So with that very long lead, are there any suggestions or resources that can point me to the direction of when I can find config resources similar to the ITSM guided setup(s) for change management?
I do plan on taking the CMDB, etc courses in nowlearning, but with my current EoQ deadline for this implementation, I don't have the time to do this before things are due.
Any help would be appreciated.
Best,
Coltin
