Can I change the sys_id of a record in ServiceNow and replace it with a new value

Hi All,

 

Is it possible to change the sys_id of a record in ServiceNow and replace it with a new value? Is it possible to customize the sys_id? If yes, could you please provide me the steps.

I want to create a product offering in the servicenow which have a sys_id in the follwing format ABC-123. Is it possible to do this?

I don't think it is possible,,, because sys_id in Servicenow is totally managed by Servicenow. So it would be cause trouble if we can use ourselves defined format.

Maybe, it is too late reply,,, but just let me comment.
