Hi Community,
I am trying to modify a Module record named "Security Tasks" within the Security Center application scope.
However, all fields are greyed out, and I am seeing the following message at the top of the form:
"This item is read-only based on its protection policy."
My Goal:
I need to adjust the Roles (Visibility) for this module because I want to restrict this to specific admins only atau I need to add a custom role.
Questions:
Is there any way to unlock this record to make edits?
If this is strictly locked by ServiceNow, is the best practice to create a new custom Module and ignore/deactivate this one?
Any advice on how to handle this Protection Policy limitation would be appreciated.
Thanks!

since it's read-only from platform level, you can edit that
You can't deactivate this one as well
What you can do is use query BR on module table and restrict this based on role
check this link, response from Allen
hide module using business rule
💡 If my response helped, please mark it as correct ✅ and close the thread 🔒— this helps future readers find the solution faster! 🙏

Hi @yana7
This module is secured at the system level from ServiceNow side; hence we will not be able to modify this module.
Can you try to use module roles which is added in screenshots?
Please appreciate the efforts of community contributors by marking the appropriate response as the correct answer and helpful. This may help other community users to follow the correct solution in the future.
