Certificate Management - OOB Manual Catalog items flow for Request and Renew Certificate - Article

                         Certificate Inventory Management Catalog Item

                                                                               

Procedure to request certificates

  • Application Scope is Certificate Inventory and Management.

  • Navigate to All > Self Service > Employee Center.

  • Use the search bar to look for Certificate Management

  • Click on Request New Certificate(Manual) to get a new certificate for an application.

  • Only users with the pki_admin, pki_user, or discovery_admin roles fill out this form.
  • Enter appropriate information for mandatory fields: Certificate Signing Request, Certificate Authority, Certificate Type, Validity period, and Approver.

  • If the “Requested For” field not filled automatically it’s take logged in user as a requesting certificate.
  • Click on submit to save the form

  • A manual task will be created related to new a certificate

 

 

  • Navigate to All -> Certificate Management -> Certificate Manual Tasks

  • Open Certificate Manual Tasks  search name with your certificate Number.

  • Click on number to open the record

  • You will notice that the certificate task type is New and the approval state is Requested.
  • A brief description will appear automatically.
  •  Approver Details are located under related list.

    • Open the Requested record from the “admin” perspective looks like this.
    • After permission is granted from admin.

    • Approval state shifts to approved.

    Approval View:

    • From the standpoint of approval .
    • Navigate to All -> Service Desk -> My Approvals

    • Click on My Approvals

    • Open the record and Click on Approve button on top of form.

    • Approval state shifts to approved.

    • Click on Update on top of the form .

    Renewal Certificate Request

    • You can also manually request to renew certificates through the Service Catalog.
    • Navigate to All > Self Service> Employee Center.
    • Click on Renew Certificate(Manual).
    • Click on reference icon of Unique Certificate field.
    • Select a Certificate CI.

    • Enter appropriate information for mandatory fields: Certificate Signing Request, Requested for, and Approver.
    • Enter or select any other details on the form and then click on Submit to place the order.

    • Navigate to All->Certificate Management -> Certificate Manual Tasks
    • A certificate task record is created with approval state Requested
    • Short description and description are auto populated

    • After permission is granted.
    • Approval state shifts to approved.
    • Click on Update on top of the form.
