Dashboard Automatically Refresh

Hi all,

I have a question about dashboards in SNOW. How can we set it up so the dashboard refreshes every 5/10 minutes?

For example; if we have a dashboard which displays the current number of Incidents/Requests, how do we ensure this is automatically refreshed every 5 minutes to display up to date information?

You can try adding some browser extensions to refresh page accordingly instead.

Hi,

The dashboards cannot be auto refreshed , we recently had this conversation and it was a challenge.

You can make the report in the dashboard real time but not all report type support that. Also the risk of potential performance issues.

What We eventually did was to create a portal page and included few reports in the portal page and set that to refresh every few seconds, but you have to be very cautions with this as to may potentially have impact on performance. So limit this to as few users as possible and not many concurrent sessions.

For dashboards as others have mentioned, there is no ServiceNow solution for refreshing a dashboard, but I have two alternative options:

• Get a browser plugin that can refresh the browser - hence also the dashboard will be refreshed e.g. "auto refresh plus" for google Crome.
• look into to create a workspace instead of a dashboard. As far as I recall (can't find the documentation), the workspace can handle auto refresh.
