Due to application dependencies we have a requirement where all our systems are running IE9. We are looking into going to Fuji, but are worried about the browser compatibility issues with the new user interface.
Does anyone know a way that we can setup Service Now to automatically launch with a different browser that is not setup as the default. We have many users that have Chrome installed as well a FireFox. Basically looking for something that would check to see if you are trying to open in IE. If so force it to open in Chrome first, if that does not work to try FireFox and/or Safari.

Hi Mark,
Fuji uses UI15 which does support IE9 (Administering the User Interface - ServiceNow Wiki). You can also always setup ServiceNow to use earlier UI's if you find they are more stable for you. As for setting up which browser opens ServiceNow, there isn't really anything you can do for that. ServiceNow exists within a web page and as such it can not open applications on your computer or redirect to different browsers. Users choose the browser and then open ServiceNow.
You could provide shortcuts on the user's desktop that open with a specific browser but again, that is at the OS level not within ServiceNow.

Thank you for the response. We were also trying to force it to not use IE due to the performance issues that IE has with running scripts. It always seems so much slower then the other browsers. The other option, which sounds like it might be easier, is to put something on our Intranet site to force the link to open in a different browser.

Hi Travis - I can say from this week's experience in Fuji, in SDLC, some of the boards need a more recent browser than IE9 to be viewed.
