Global Search not returning list of results

Hi All,

Our service desk group have just noticed that the global search does not return a list of results when they search for part of a log number.   If a whole log number is entered it will take them to the log.

It is only affecting users that are in our Service Desk group.   Other users are not experiencing the issue.   It has only just stopped working and I can't see any changes to that group.

Any suggestions of what would stop the search function working?

Hi Sam,

Please navigate to System Definition-->Search Group-->Open the records and cross check whether the groups(or group members) are matching the Roles or User Group.

I hope this helps. Please mark correct/helpful based on impact

Hi Amlan,

Thanks for the above.   I'd checked these groups and they only required the ITIL role which all users have.   The search function has now started working this morning following no changes at our end, so I have raised a Hi ticket to investigate the cause of the outage.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sam,

As you have mentioned that without any configuration change the issue raised and resolved by itself, is really strange! I was also about to say you to raise a HI ticket in order to get it investigated.
