How to integrate Aruba Wi-Fi systems with custom application in ServiceNow?

We have a requirement to integrate Aruba WIFI with our custom application called "Vistors".

In short, Visitor application is used in our organization to have the data of external users who visit our agencies(globally).

To make use of this application, our clients decided to intergate Aruba WIFI systems to provide Wifi for external visitors.

Example: When visitor details filled in the visitor application in ServiceNow, he/she should access WiFi. Meaning that as soon as record created, something like event or Endpoint should trigger to Aruba to generate password and sent to visitor mobile.

How can I achieve this requirement?

And what are questions/concerns to raised to our clients?

Please advice.

Appreciate your help!

Thanks a ton.

Hi Reddy,

To achieve this requirement, you will need to integrate Aruba WIFI with your ServiceNow instance. Here are the high-level steps you can follow:

  1. Determine the type of integration: You need to determine the type of integration needed with Aruba WIFI. There are various integration options available such as captive portal, API integration, etc. You need to understand the capabilities of Aruba WIFI and determine which option best suits your requirements.

  2. Configure Aruba WIFI: Once you have determined the type of integration, you need to configure Aruba WIFI accordingly. You will need to create a captive portal or set up an API integration to receive requests from ServiceNow.

  3. Develop a custom application: You will need to develop a custom application in ServiceNow that will integrate with Aruba WIFI. This application will need to create a record in ServiceNow when a visitor checks in, and then trigger an event or endpoint to generate a password and send it to the visitor's mobile device.

  4. Test and deploy: After developing the custom application, you will need to thoroughly test it and ensure that it meets all your requirements. Once it passes testing, you can deploy the application to your production environment.

In terms of questions/concerns to raise with your clients, here are a few:

  1. What type of integration do they want with Aruba WIFI?
  2. What are their specific requirements for generating and sending passwords to visitors?
  3. Are there any security or compliance concerns that need to be addressed?
  4. What is the expected volume of visitors, and can the Aruba WIFI system handle the expected load?
  5. What is the expected timeline for the integration, and are there any dependencies that need to be addressed?

@Rahul Kumar17

I appreciate your response.

Since I have no idea related to integrations, it's new for me.

Could you please share any document related to it? Or provide the process step by steps what to be done in SNOW.

Please help me with the API script to get newly generated password in Aruba and how to send it to the visitor's mobile via SNOW?

It would be really helpful.

Thanks, a lot.
