How to publish catalog item?

i have a question if we will create item in catalogs how can i publish that ?and also how can users see that item? in reports we create url and attach that to users,in the same manner here any?

Hi Mahesh,

You publish a catalog item by adding it to one or more categories and then ensuring those categories are available in a catalog. Use the related lists at the bottom of the catalog item definition to make these assignments.

Users then see them by navigating through the hierarchy you defined. In this example, the user navigates to Hardware> Tables (in the related categories section on my instance), then they see the iPad 3 listed there. You have complete control over the organization of your catalog items and categories.

                                    already i added the item   to catalog but there is   no related link appears

What related link are you looking for?

The "Publish to Hardware/Software Catalog" related link only appears on product models*, if I remember correctly. You won't see that related link on the catalog item itself since it's already published at that point. You just have to set the variables, UI policies, access and catalog options and it should show up in the catalog as long as the user meets the user criteria.

Leaving "Available For" blank makes the catalog item available for all users.

*I just did a quick search on UI Actions containing the name "publish" and I'm only seeing the one that I mentioned before on the Product Model form as well as one on the Vendor Catalog Item form.
