Could someone tell me what they have for the Identification Rule for this Class. We have like 2 million of these so I am assuming it needs something else. They are creating duplicates so i'm going thru de-duplication but i'd like to stop them from creating dups.
Thanks

Hi @Wendy Peterson ,
this class has a dependent Identification Rule. This means the CI alone is not enough to identify this CI and it means that duplicate entries in this table are correct. Each Routing Rule is only unique in combination with the Hardware (e.g. IP Router) on which the Rule is deployed on (used by Relationship). With that, the identification rule of this Routing Rules are combined with the Identification Rules of the Hardware which uses this rule.
So if you want to check for duplicates, you need the CMDB Query builder. Search for all Hardware Uses Next Hop Routing Rule. If this query delivers Duplicates, then you really have duplicates. In this case ServiceNow should create Duplicate Tasks (https://<instance_name>.service-now.com/reconcile_duplicate_task_list.do?sysparm_query=&sysparm_view....

I have like 30k duplicate tasks that's why I believe they are all duplicates. Each one of those tasks has like 300 on there that they are saying are duplicates. So i've been going thru and merging them together. I was wondering if there is a way to stop this from happening.

@Wendy Peterson is there a Link to the parent CI in the records? If yes, you can create an independent Identification rule having the fields of original rule included but also the CI field. This should ensure, that there are no duplicates anymore.
