Impact of renaming an out of the box field label

Hello

I would like to know what are the impacts of renaming an out of the table field label. For example I am renaming the label of the out of the box field "contact_type" from "Contact Type" to "Source". What is the impact to future ServiceNow upgrades?

Hi, I am sure there won't be any impact. We do this all the time :). I don't think so, anything would be tied to column label, it is always with column name.

Will the change to the label still considered a change and whether it will be discarded in future servicenow upgrades?

I don't think so service now changes table schema in upgrades. Does it ? Your thoughts are fine in case of other artifacts like business rule or client script. You can verify yourself in dictionary of that column, when it was updated last time.
