Issues with a Scheduled Import - Anyone ever have this issue?

We have some scheduled imports every night that run and for some reason they started failing. This is the error I get java.io.IOException: Problem opening a handle to remote file: /Outbox/LandOLakes Orders.xls ( scheduled import job: CDW Order Import) - When I have them resend the files and I run the job manually I have no issues. We also have another scheduled import from another company and no issues with that one. That one i can FTP into their site to check on the files. The above won't let us do that so I can't confirm the files are there when I go and get them. Though they tell me they are. I am running out of ideas. I've tried to change the job times which they tell me runs like an hour before I have it scheduled.

Any ideas?

This is all we are doing

Hi Wendy,

Try downloading a tool like WinSCP (Downloading WinSCP-5.9.4-Setup.exe :: WinSCP)

Then try to connect to the server using the credentials that you are provided.

If the application can connect then ServiceNow can connect.   The opposite is also more than likely true.

If you are not able to open that location then they may be having issues with the FTP service.

Thus, the file may be there, but if their FTP service is not functioning properly you will not be able to access it.

This is the method I always use to troubleshoot file issues with FTP.

If ServiceNow is having issues, then try with another client and see if the issue persists to that client.

If it does, then it more than likely   isn't a SNOW issue.

I see now that you said you can't ftp to this site.   They must have an IP white-list or something setup.   I would   request that they grant you access to FTP to it so that you can do proper validations.

This is an old question, but I ran into this error when the file did not exist in the source location.
