My developers are working to make CMDB data available to the Business Continuity Module (BCM), but are running into roadblocks. Maybe some clarification would help:
1) Is there an expectation of CMDB data being available to the Business Continuity module?
2) What is an "Element Definition". Is this what should be configured as part of making CMDB data available to BCM?
3) Platform hardening was set up during implementation. Could this affect making CMDB data available to BCM? Where would we check to see current configuration?
Thank you for your attention.

1) Is there an expectation of CMDB data being available to the Business Continuity module?
Answer: CMDB provides Business Process and Business Application tables which are critical for ServiceNow BCM. With the help of Business Process table, Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Plan can be created. With the help of Business Application table, Application Impact Analysis and Disaster Recovery Plan can be created.
2) What is an "Element Definition". Is this what should be configured as part of making CMDB data available to BCM?
Anwer: Element Definition table provides a scoping mechanism using which BIA Template and Plan Templates can be created in ServiceNow BCM. While creation of Element Definition table record for BIA and Plan template it is not necessary that Source table should belongs to CMDB. Source table can be any table in ServiceNow platform which contains the required asset useful for Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning.
