Playbook Checklist activity & Task relationship

Does anyone know how a Playbook checklist activity is linked to a specific task?  My requirement is that I need to prevent a case from auto-closing if there are playbook items that are still open.

We have a Playbook that triggers when a case is set to a specific state.  The playbook runs a checklist activity which I see opens a PTSK record.  I don't see how the case & PTSK record are linked.  I was hoping that I could run a query to return all active task records where the parent = <Case #>.

Thoughts?
