Select box not showing full choice text in Portal

Hi,

Its kind of a basic question. I have a Survey, where there is a select box. In the options, I have 3 values, which are pretty long (about 400 characters). 

When I select any of the options, the select box does not show the full length of the choice, instead shows only about a line. Can we increase the length?

You should be able to change the width of your choice field simply from System Properties > UI Properties, please follow the procedure below (scroll down on the page of View choice list definitions):

Adjust the choice list width

I saw this option. But if I change the width of the Choice field, it will be applied globally to all choice fields. I am not sure how that will render in various forms, catalog items, etc.

For the 2nd option:Style: width auto --> Since the survey is not exactly a 'form', rather a content iFrame, I can not right click on any select box and change the property.

Is there any way, I can make changes in Portal?

Also I tried increasing the Choice length and added a sample variable to a catalog Item. But in Portal, it does not make any difference. It still shows the cropped value (...)
