Hi Experts,
I wonder where to get the information IN ADVANCE (before the actual clone is been performed) what date will be included (timestamp of the backup to be cloned to the other instances).
We need to know what data will be included.
So if we plan ti clone on 10pm - what production data will be included? There need to be some kind so reliable information available to plan the propper cloning. Could not find anything that seems to be reliable.
I know that AFTER the clone has been done, the message will be provided. But we need to know before.
Thank you!

Hi Zod,
You may go through below links once.
Geographically dispersed backups.
In addition to above if any query I guess getting back to HI would be a better option as they would help you with exact time when backup of our instances are taken daily.
Thanks,
Jaspal Singh

Hi Jaspal,
thnx. I know those documents ... but this is why I'm asking.
There need to be something reliable more easy to access ... to be able to avoid a loss of data.
A clone might to be planned weeks in advance if you have a lot of open developments within different instances ... and not the time to freeze every thing for 36 hours to be sure you get all covered.

Hi Zod,
I think I can provide more information. I spoke to SN about cloning back at my previous job when trying to learn more about the process.
So from the word I got, the instances are backed up daily at 3:30PM ET (you'd have to find out your own timezone or ask HI if it's region based?). And those backups are only kept for 'x' period of time (if you needed to rollback). I believe it was like 6 days or something.
You can request from HI to get on-demand backup made in conjunction with the clone request, but the reason it's not recommended for larger instances, etc. is that it has to process the backup upon clone process beginning....which could take 'x' hours and THEN the actual clone happens which takes another 'x' hours. So some places it could take 14 hours overall.
You have to call HI and get that on-demand enabled and specify the instance(s).
So for your example, if you scheduled it for MM/DD/YYYY (07/16/2018) for 10PM. It would process then...but pull from the last backup that it stored from. Which would be 3:30ET. So missing 6 and a half hours. It does NOT automatically pull from 10PM and clone that over to the other instance(s).

Hi Allen,
ok. I was assuming something like that too,
Somehow uncool that this is not automatically provided by sn when planing the clone.
Also I can not request clone to TEST & to DEV iin advance. Have to wait till the TEST clone is done to request DEV clone .. what costs us unnecessary time .. ;(
Any idea on that too?
