The 'Omit if empty' option on the first list disables cell-editing on other

Hi,

found a strange bug.

let's say you have a new table with several M2M related tables. And you add these related lists on the form. And you want to show them only if there are related records there.

So you choose this 'Omit if empty' option on the list control settings screen.

The thing is when a first list is hidden 'cause there are no records there, you are not able to edit other lists with the List Editor (you aren't able even select a single cell).

When the first list is visible everything works fine no matter visible other lists or not.

Could you please check this?

This is a known behavior, please see KB0746809 for a solution.

Was this behavior known 3 years ago? 🙂

And with regards to solution:

"...Set the "Omit if Empty" option to false..."

Come on, I deliberately set "Omit if Empty" to true 'cause I needed this functionality and this was resulting with inappropriate behavior. So the solution cannot be just not to use this broken functionality. I'd expect fix of this issue as a solution.

Unfortunately I cannot answer for 3 years ago, however, the "Omit to Empty" option can still be used just not for the very first related list. (assuming you have more than one related list configured).

If you absolutely need to Omit (if empty) that can also be done by scripting options which can also be found here in the Community.

All the best,
