-> I purchased an Standalone Instance. So later i want it to be Domain Seperated. I have activated an Domain Seperation - MSP installer plugin. After activating MSP instance how does that instance called MSP instance or Domain Seperated Instance.

Thanks.

Hi Harish,

MSP is categorized into two parts. Dedicated MSP and Shared MSP.

You as company are Dedicated MSP if you buy instance on your name and your customer uses it while you charge your customer licensing and pay it to ServiceNow

You are a Shared MSP instance if you buy an MSP domain separated instance and create multiple domains on one instance and onboard multiple customers to the single instance.

Yes, there is a significant price difference for Dedicated instance and MSP instance. Exact prices ServiceNow sales team can help you.

To activate Domain Separation plugin is as good as making Dedicated instance to a shared instance. In production, ServiceNow will do it for you and your licensing stuff will change thereafter.

So, in a nutshell, its just two types of Instances, Shared or Dedicated. If you are a company who buys it for yourself you don't use MSP as a word for Shared or Dedicated but if you buy it for reselling it to your customer you use word MSP. For obvious reasons you become managed service provider when you resell it.

Hope that answers! If yes, please hit like and mark as answer
