Hi.
I have a requirement that I am a bit unsure as how to acomplish.
The company I am working for has Discovery and Event Management installed. Also they are using OP5. That works well and we get the data we need in a timely manner. However... they want to be able to get an alert if the OP5 server goes down. The only thing that comes to mind is to use the "Last event collection status" field on the em_connector_instance table for OP5. Or is there another (easier) way?
Kind regards, Glenn

I think it's a good approach.
The "Last event collection status" field typically indicates the health of the integration between ServiceNow and OP5. If it's showing as "Down" or "Failed," it might mean that the integration is experiencing issues, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the OP5 server itself is down.
You should consider this field as an indicator of the integration health rather than the server's health.
To monitor the actual availability and health of the OP5 server itself, you might need to set up external monitoring. This can be done using a separate monitoring tool (like Nagios, Zabbix, or native server monitoring tools) or by creating a custom script that periodically checks the server's status and reports it as an event to ServiceNow.
Please, don't forget to mark my answer as correct if it solves your issue or mark it as helpful if it is relevant for you!
Regards,
Tushar

Maybe I have overlooked it. Because OOTB there is a self-healt monitoring service that check wether the connector is up or down. now/nav/ui/classic/params/target/em_monitor_scripts.do%3Fsys_id%3Dbc76508993980300404c74aff67ffbf8%26sysparm_view%3D
