I have a widget that already uses the selected elements, and its indicator source comes from the Metric table.
Will the widget still respond to the dashboard filter if its indicator source is from the Metric table?

Hello @LawrenceS_ ,
As far as I know, by default a widget using the Metric table as its indicator source won’t respond to dashboard filters unless the metric has breakdowns that correspond to those filters.
If you need dynamic filtering, consider switching the indicator source to a table-based indicator or redesigning the metric to include the necessary breakdowns.

Basically if the widget gets its data from the metric table, it will not follow the dashboard filter even though the widget's "Follow Element" is checked?

Yes, that’s correct, the reason is that metrics are stored as pre‑aggregated snapshots, so the filter logic doesn’t re‑query the underlying data.
Have you tried Removing the Followed Breakdown and allow the Breakdown Source to control the visualization? It may not be needed and creating a logic issue with your Breakdown Source.
