With our monthly store releases leading up to the Now Platform Rome release we've been focusing on enhancements that make it easier to connect your DevOps world to the work already in ServiceNow.

This post is covering enhancements to ServiceNow DevOps - the solution for connecting the DevOps tools your teams are already using to the work in ServiceNow to automate change management and provide unique insights and auditing. There are many other ways ServiceNow interacts with DevOps practices. For building apps on the platform using DevOps refer to App Engine CI/CD information. For interactions on integrating agile planning (e.g. with Jira), refer to IT Business Management. And for managing services in the CMDB or Service Graph, refer to information about products like Site Reliability Operations from IT Operations Management.

Here are the key enhancements:

  • Out of the box support for SonarQube in Jenkins and Azure DevOps pipelines for easy integration and use of SonarQube scanning data.
  • Support for parallel stages in Azure DevOps to make it simpler to integrate with existing ADO pipelines.
  • Support for restarting ADO stages in case of certain failure types (instead of requiring a restart of the pipeline).
  • Returning change failure reason information to Jenkins to make it easy to see why a change request was declined.
  • Ability to categorize the type of change used in ITSM instead of defaulting to the DevOps type.

Support for interpretation and leveraging of Azure DevOps Parallel Stages:
