DPR and Version Management Understanding

Hello,

In my personal instance, I installed DPR version with latest version that is applicable for Xanadú, Zurich and Yokohama versions.

However,  I see "Version" option is not available as part of Release Planning option (as previous versions) and It is not available on "Version" tab. Also, I cannot find a way to create a Version for my product enhancements to be included in a Release (as mandatory field)

I am working with user with Product Manager role.

 

I need your assistance for:

 

  • could you please advise where can I found or configure this option and best practices for its management ?
  • Is there any documentation available to understand Version management and relationship with Products ?
  • How can I solve this issue? I reinstalled DPR  but it is still the same.

There are a few changes introduced in the latest DPR version. This link should help resolve your issue — I faced the same problem earlier.

Hi @johannarami ,

In the latest versions of DPR, it's no longer possible to create product versions directly.

Instead, versions are created during the release creation process. While setting up a release, you can specify the desired version name. Once the release is created, the version will be automatically generated and reflected under the Versions tab of the associated product.

Let me know if you need help navigating this flow or setting up a release.

Product will be stored in "cmdb_application_product_model" and Version will be stored in "cmdb_software_component_model" table the relation between these two is "product_base_model" in "cmdb_software_component_model" table.
