Hello,
Is there any guidance on mapping existing Business Applications, Software models etc as Digital Products?
While we understand that these are based on guidelines, any examples would be helpful as we want to make sure we do it right. For example, how ServiceNow get modeled as a Digital Product?

Hi @snowdev8 , We have a release coming out on 01/05/2025. In this new version, you'll can create a product model from existing Business Application within the DPR workspace. I believe that will help you adopt the use of Product Models.

I am happy to jump on a call and discuss any missing capability for your use case.

Thanks,

Balaji

Hi, we have a schedule job that will automatically generate Product Models for their corresponding Configuration Items. Please refer to the doc... https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/xanadu-servicenow-platform/page/product/csdm-implementation/t...

As the document points out, the schedule job does not do a great job of mapping the right model id if you have duplicate names. You'll be able to do this manually within DPR on our upcoming update in April (safe harbor applies).

Thanks,

Balaji

Hello Balaji,

My question is more about what the overall taxonomy would look like.

Take ServiceNow for example. Is the Digital Product ServiceNow? Or would it be Now Platform, Incident Management etc

Hi @snowdev8 , Now Create has an excellent resource that describes what you're looking for. Could you refer to the presentation in this link? https://learning.servicenow.com/nowcreate?id=nc_asset&asset_id=42ab53fac38c9a101ac0f60f0501314f

Hi Balaji,
I guess the gap here is for mature customers who have Business Apps, Models etc . If we want to slowly adapt to DPR, how do we retrofit previous versions of Models?
