Hi,

We are implementing EAM for NON IT Asset for first time. There is a requirement for requesting NON IT Assets for the user. We are required to create models and catalog item for the models. Is there any OOB functionality to publish Models (NON IT Models) to Catalog item.

Thanks in Advance!!

Hi @Gowtham_R ,

There is no direct out-of-the-box (OOB) functionality in ServiceNow that automatically publishes Non-IT Asset Models into Catalog Items but we can follow normal catalog creation process:

  • Create the models for your Non-IT assets in the system.

  • Manually create catalog items for each asset type so users can request them.

  • In the catalog item, you can link or filter the models so users only see the correct ones.

  • Once the user requests it, the fulfillment can happen through normal EAM/Asset processes.

Also Please refer below article as well: https://www.servicenow.com/community/cmdb-forum/ham-for-non-it-assets/m-p/239668

Hi @pavani_paluri,

Thank you for your inputs. I have checked and found out that it is possible to

- Create Model and publish to Catalog item using EAM Workspace.

- By Navigating to Enterprise Model Management -> All Enterprise or specific Model Section in Workspace.

- Select / create the model

- Publish button will be available at top right corner.

- By clicking the button it will publish to Catalog item.

However this feature is not possible in Native UI. (Only checked on High Level)

Thank you again.
