This blog contains information on the November 18, 2021 updates to the Employee Center and Employee Center Pro out of box capabilities. Also, refer to our Employee Center release notes, Employee Center Pro release notes, and Content Publishing release notes for additional information.
This release focused on addressing the most critical content management gaps and improving the admin experience of the Employee Center portals.
Please see below for details on the enhancements made:
Enhanced Mega Menu
We want all content to be easily discoverable on the Employee Center portal. So, with the Nov’2021 release, we have provided the ability to add quick links on the Mega Menu (see screenshot below). Quick links in the Mega Menu is a great way to highlight important content, pages, or applications. Updates include:
- Quick links that are connected to root topic of taxonomy are displayed on Mega Menu (along with the quick links widget on the root topic page)
- WCAG 2.1 Compliance
- UI/Aesthetic improvements – Panel positioning

New Content Authoring and Publishing Experience (For Employee Center Pro)
We want to make it easy for non-tech admins to create and schedule content. With the Nov’2021 release, we have
1. Improved the Content Creation flow
In the new experience we have:
- A single library list with one-click launch of the creation flow
- Buttons and iconography to help distinguish the different types of content
- Scalable design to add content previews and additional content types in the future
2. Created a new Content Design tab
Upon launch of the content design flow, a new tab is created with:
- Enhanced forms for easy-to-design configurations (Banner, Styled Content, URL)
- Embedded content preview illustrating what the piece of content will look like prior to publish
3. Made it easy to publish new content
Publishing flow is now embedded within the design flow (see screenshot below). It also comes with:
- Improved publishing forms for easy config
- Preview-able content within the publish process

Enhancements to Quick Links widget
With the Nov’2021 release, we have provided additional flexibility for customers who want to display complex images in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The additional configuration options include:
- whether to display text overlay background,
- tailor text overlay
- background-color
- text color

Additional flexibility for the “My Items” widget
We want to provide a better end-user experience on the home page with varying content and responsive layouts. Additionally, we want to ensure an activity is visible only if a user has access to it. For this, the updates made in the November release include:
- Availability of dynamic card sizing for primary activity list and fixes to responsive layout.
- Enables colleagues to navigate to specific tasks from quick tasks list
- Admin activity configuration will also include activity access checks based on user criteria to control visibility.
