Best Practice for Using Search within Employee Center Pro

Hello!

We are in the build phase of launching Employee Center pro within our organization. We have a requirement to place the Search bar within the "Welcome banner". After researching this requirement, we found that Employee Center uses the Content Experience widget. There is also a Homepage Search widget that is used but does not offer the features that the Content Experience widget has.
Currently we cannot find a way to add the Search bar to the CE widget. In my PDI, I cloned the Homepage Search widget and added the search bar to that and it seems to work just fine. So, we are wondering what the best practice or recommendation would be to add the Search bar to the "Welcome banner"?
