Given the many-to-many relationship between content and topics, is there an easy way to apply user criteria to topics? For example, if a Catalog Item should be in both Topic A (US users only) and Topic B (UK users only) is there a way to limit access so users don't see both Topics?
I know one alternative would be to clone the Catalog Item and apply different user criteria to the clone, though I'm hoping there's another solution. Previously, I believe this could have been handled by applying criteria on the Catalog Category or Knowledge Base level.

I asked about setting user criteria for mega-menu items and was told that there is no way to do that.
I submitted an idea on the idea portal. If you upvote it, it might get more attention from SN.

Catalog Items and Knowledge Articles "connected" to Topics should have their own User Criteria set to prevent usage and viewing by unintended personas. If the currently logged in person does not pass User Criteria for ANY of the connected content to a Topic it is simply not displayed. Keep in mind that Topics are a presentation layer for content connected to them, and that adding User Criteria support for Topics would not secure content from viewing and usage by direct navigation, other browsing, and searching. User Criteria support for Topics would actually add an additional step to securing content vs. making securing content more manageable.
