Can we show the primary topics as tiles on home page instead of drop down on mega menu

Hi All,

I want to show the primary topics as tiles on the home page instead of the drop down on mega menu.

Requirement is to remove the drop downs on header and show these primary topics as tiles on home page and on click of them, need to redirect to the topic page. I have achieved this part using quick links widget on home page. But not able to figure out how to hide/remove the drop downs of primary topics on mega menu. Is it possible to do so

We cant disable the topics as we still need to redirect to topic page but not from the mega menu.

Hi Pallavi,

Can you please provide more context why you don't want to use taxonomy topics? 

By customising it, you will miss future enhancement as taxonomy is the main architecture component of the EC portal. Also, you can check the popular topic widget along with quick link widgets. Popular topics show topics available in related taxonomy, you can configure 4,6,8 or 12 titles in that widget. 

If you still want to customise then would suggest cloning OOB portal and pages rather than modifying OOB portal.

Hi Sharad,

We do want the taxonomy topics but not from the drop down on mega menu. Our customer requirement is to have the primary topics as tiles on homepage instead of all the topics being shown as a drop down on the header. And from there, we still have the taxonomy topics structure. Just want to avoid the drop down display.

As you said, we have already cloned the OOB portal and making the changes according the customer requirements.

'Employee center navigation' widget is being called from 'Employee Center Header' widget which handles all the primary and sub topics navigation on the mega menu drop down. Cloned the 'Employee center Header' widget and commented the widget call in HTML and achieved the requirement.
