Emplyee center usage

Hi community,

I am wondering is employee center intended for internal employees only or both internal and external.

We have many internal users with itil licenses, then we have internal employees that request itmes. Then we have external users that raise tickets.

What is the usage of employee center for all 3?

There isn't any doc that exactly states this but we can come to this  based on the current set up

hi Anthony,

the legend around this - EC Pro - for internal employees and CSM for anything external. 

What type of tickets your external users raise? IT, HR? else?

For externals, mainly IT tickets, eg I have a issue with XZY or I need a password reset.

Also what is CSM? Do you mean the ServicePortal?

 

My understanding is that Employee center is like an INtranet solution, that is why I belive implementing this for externals is overkill but this is what I am trying to understand

Hello @AnthonyMull 

Employee Center main purpose is to serve internal users.

It is not intended for external users. There are lot of components on ESC portal which are not exposed to external users (like widgets and knowledge bases)
