Faceted Search Widget Showing Duplicate Knowledge Bases in Different Languages

We are experiencing an issue with the Faceted Search widget in Service Portal where Knowledge Bases (KBs) appear twice in the filters—once in English and once in Dutch. However, when selecting either version, the search results always show only the English articles if you are on the English version. The number of results are also different for the different language versions of the same knowledge base.
This issue only appears on production and not on development, test or acceptance environments and the widget itself is out of the box.
I have checked the indexed sources, search applications configuration, search sources and ai search profiles and they are all identical.
Do you have any suggestions what could be causing this issue or potential fixes? Or had similar experiences?
