Hide Taxonomy Topic based on role.

We are wanting to make taxonomy topic visible to only ITIL role users.  I am able to make the catalogs not searchable but they still can see these catalogs if they go to taxonomy dropdown.  They cannot view the catalog but it still shows. Is it possible to hide taxonomy topics from non-IT users?

@stuart schaack One way we achieved this was by cloning the taxonomy topic page, then added the necessary roles to that page, and then in the IT topic, we swapped the OOTB taxonomy topic page, for the cloned page.

OOTB there is no way to achieve your desired outcome.

Hi @stuart schaack

My experience say No but it may need some coding.

@RodGallegos ,

Can you explain how you managed to achieve this? Did you mean by cloning the "emp_taxonomy_topic" page listed in the Template field of the taxonomy and adding a role to that custom page? I am trying to implement a similar functionality and was not able to achieve it.
