How to add a new field on portal

Hi Team,

 

I am on sp page ( service portal ) , when i click on my profile on service portal page . i am getting the below page

under about tab : by default i have 

 

email 

 

business phone 

 

mobile phone 

 

how to add a new column : company , manager , department there ?

 

Please help with your inputs

I'm a little short on time, but I want to at least help you get started.

 

So, I can't give you the solution 100% without seeing what's going on with the widget as it looks like it may have been slightly customized.

 

All the information on this page is part of the same widget called User Profile. In order to get to the widget you will press ctrl + right click. This should bring up a secondary menu. Click on the option that says widget in editor.

This will bring up the html, css, client script, and server script for this widget. The default widget is called User Profile and will require you to make a clone to make any changes. If changes have already been made, then it is likely this widget is already a clone.

 

You can look for the about section on the html to see what functions it is utilizing. From there you can trace it to the server script and client script respectively. You will need to adjust this code in order to display any additional fields from the user profile.

it takes this view "Service Portal" from sys_user

Company, Manager, Department fields are already there in that view but those are excluded by the OOTB widget

So you will have to clone that OOTB widget, remove those excluded fields and then add this new widget again on "user_profile" portal page
