Migrating from SP to ESC - Categories and Topics

Hello everyone,

 

We're currently in the process of migrating from SP to ESC in term of the Service Catalog.

ESC uses Taxonomies, Topics, in SP we are used to Categories and Subcategories.

We'd like to have a "Service Requests" main topic and underneath it to keep the original categories and subcategories.

 

Is there anyway to make ESC use categories same way as it is using topics? or do we have to create same topics following the categories hierarchy?

Thank you it would be very helpful in our process, though could you please guide me on how to create a button (near the topics area in the header menu) to navigate to the esc_sc_catalog page? it seems that the simple button I added there to do that is not showing, should be simple in my opinion but the fact that it isn't showing
