Power BI request handling through Service Catalog

Hello all,

I have a requirement to handle Power BI requests in ServiceNow.
The process should:

  • Track the lifecycle of a Power BI report from Requirement Finalization → Development → Testing → Deployment (publishing).

  • Capture and maintain efforts (man-hours) and costing, which should be reviewed and approved by the Requested For user.

  • Provide a way to manage scope changes during development (e.g., additional effort approval or re-baselining).

Has anyone implemented a similar use case? What’s the best way to:

  • Track scope/effort changes with approvals

  • Keep an audit trail of changes

  • Report on total planned vs. actual efforts

Any guidance, design patterns, or best practices would be very helpful.
