Recently updated the Content Publishing to 31.0.3 and Employee Center Pro to 30.0.4.
It was recognized that in the release notes of Content Publishing, the following line exists:
ServiceNow Store
Fixed
When you copy-paste text to the Rich Content Editor from another source (for example, Microsoft Word), the RCE removes the formatting and inserts the text into the selected textbox.
So any content that had optimal formatting already, like a table for instance that would be inserted into Rich Content section, now reverts to just simple text... is this actually expected behavior, as it seems like a step backwards not forwards?
Image below for how we used to be able to just copy paste, and now how it pulls in just plain text 😞

Hello @KMeisch,
This is expected behaviour due to limitations with the underlying library, but we are planning to improve copy/paste with styled formatting in future releases. As for a workaround, if you have access to the html and css of the content you'd like to copy, you could turn on the Rich Content Editor checkbox at the bottom of the Content Publishing -> Properties page.
Then you can copy the html and css code into the editor with the edit code feature: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-employee-service-management/page/product/employee-ce...
Thanks,
Vicky

Hi @KMeisch ,
if you are not seeing the "edit code" icon, please select the checkbox to enable to ability to edit HTML and CSS. It is under Content Publishing -> Advanced -> Properties -> "Rich Content Editor"
If this is not what you meant, could you please share a screen shot of what is missing ?
Thank you,

Interestingly I have both of the described requirements updated for the February release in our environment, and in my PDI but the CSS option as per the below does not appear in either. So there is a conflict somewhere that I am trying to identify.
Aware of the potential risks...I'd be willing to clone the existing content to test it but the CSS icon is not appearing unfortunately. Any additional thoughts into that? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the info; I obviously missed the note in the knowledge documentation 🙂
Note: This feature is not available by default. An Admin must enable the Edit code property. See Properties installed with Content Publishing
