Show Parent taxonomy topic as a single column menu and show child topics on-click of Parent topic!

Hello All,

I am using EC Theme in my custom portal. And I have created few Parent and Child Taxonomy topics. As of now it is showing like below image.

But I have a requirement to show Parent topics as a single column and on-click of parent topic the relevant child topics should be visible as a single column menu on left side of the parent topic like below image.

I think this should be achievable by modifying HTML and CSS part of the EC Theme Header widget.

Since I am new to the portal I am not sure what I need to change/insert in the script.

Can someone know the solution please suggest what I need to do to achieve this requirement?

Thanks!

Hi @Dhanakoddi2

Employee Center taxonomy and Mega Menu works in a vertical structure, not horizontal.

This would potentially be a significant customization and personally, I would advise against it. It's not really providing any value, but introduces risk and technical overhead that will need to be managed in each and every release.

Hi Dan,

Can we achieve this kind of menu using menu items instead of Taxonomy and Mega menu?

Hi @Dhanakoddi2

You can try configuring the Advanced Portal Navigation If that helps your use case.

You can select the sub-menu display type for your Root Topic as Expanded as per the screenshot above to achieve the below.
